News Flash for the Travel Trade: Coming soon - Divine Tours International Offers Amazing Hotel Packages for the entire Caribbean.

Jamaica is the premier destination in the Caribbean evidenced by the consistent recognition in the global marketplace. Brand JAMAICA recently received the following recognition at the World Travel Awards which demonstrate the Island’s outstanding achievements:

From 1996 to 2000 Jamaica held the lead in the Category of Caribbean’s Leading Destination, relinquishing it briefly from 2003 to 2005 to Barbados. Since 2006 Jamaica again has been riding high on the wave of success. At the recently held World Travel Awards in London, England, Jamaica was selected winner from amongst a strong field of nominees for the Caribbean's Leading Tourist Board 2010 Award. Nominees included Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, St. John’s U.S. Virgin Islands, St. Martin, St. Lucia, Tobago and Turks & Caicos.

Within this Category of Caribbean’s Leading Destination, Jamaica has the distinction of the World’s Leading Honeymoon Destination in 2001. It has also captured the Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Destination in 2005, 2006.

The Honorable Edmund Bartlett, Minister of Tourism, Jamaica said that it is the stakeholders in the destination, “despite us” that is responsible for its continued success. Let us congratulate Jamaica, particularly its stakeholders and visitors for keeping Brand JAMAICA on the World Stage.

With a track record that Jamaica has already established, it is not surprising that the leading island in the Caribbean has racked up 14 out of 32 awards in the Caribbean Category at the 2010 World Travel Awards.
